From time to time, we all need to take a look at ourselves and see if we are doing enough to give back or if we have taken the time to reach back and bring someone along lifes journey with us that may otherwise be lost. Donating my personal time and services to T.O.U.R. makes me feel as if God is working through me as never before. The Founder, Jacqueline Younger, inspired me from the first moment I spoke with her and I knew without a doubt that this is how Âme was suppose to "Give Back".
T.O.U.R (Together Our Understood Responsibility) offers a new beginning for women seeking recovery from addiction, prostitution and co-occurring disorders in a supportive environment. Mrs. Younger is uniquely qualified to run this program since she is a shining example of how someone can come out the other side. Mrs. Younger is a recovering addict and former prostitute who was a homeless single mother. Her inspiring story is humbling and enables her to understand and relate to the women we are trying to help. In this peaceful setting, with individualized attention, women develop the skills and self-discipline necessary to create a full and enriching life free from addiction. With a focus on gender specific concerns we further promote self-discovery and healing. Our professional and compassionate staff works with each resident, identifying strengths and roads blocks to continued recovery. Transitional plans are progressive and realistic, designed based on individual needs. Recovery for the whole person is supported with adjunct services provided by our trusted network of professionals.
T.O.U.R is a transitional Housing and assistance program founded in 2008 as Maryland based organization. In 2011 T.O.U.R. became a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization and I am proud to be the Vice President & Executive Director of this wonderful organization. The nonproftit serves female clients in need of transitional housing and life skills training.
Our goal is to provide interim housing and skill training so that clients become empowered, independent individuals. T.O.U.R. services are unique in their female and their children -only clientele, long-duration transitional housing, and comprehensive empowerment program. T.O.U.R. will make a significant impact on the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, in both short-term relief, and long-term skill development and empowerment.
